1. What age groups do you cater for?

We welcome children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age, offering tailored learning programs for each developmental stage — Nursery, Toddler, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten

2. What curriculum do you follow?

Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0 (Belonging, Being and Becoming) and aligned with the National Quality Standard (NQS). Following the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy, we enrich learning through specialist programs in STEM, the arts, mindfulness, sustainability, leadership, and global citizenship.

3. How is The Kindergarten different from other early learning centres?

The Kindergarten offers a boutique early learning experience inspired by the standards of elite preparatory schools. We combine play-based discovery with intentional teaching, beautifully curated environments, future-ready skill development, and a strong focus on leadership, resilience, creativity, and sustainability.

4. Do you offer a School Readiness Program?

Yes. Our School Readiness Program prepares children academically, socially and emotionally for a smooth transition to primary school. We focus on developing early literacy, numeracy, resilience, leadership skills, independence and wellbeing.

5. Are meals provided for the children?

Yes, we provide fresh, nutritionally balanced meals prepared daily. Our menus are designed to fuel healthy growth, learning and energy, and cater for a range of dietary needs and preferences.

6. How do you communicate with families?

We believe strong partnerships with families are essential. Families receive daily updates through our secure communication app, along with regular newsletters, learning journals, and scheduled conversations with educators throughout the year.

7. What are your educator qualifications?

Our team is made up of highly qualified and passionate Early Childhood Teachers, Diploma Educators, Certificate III Educators, Trainees and Junior Trainees. All team members are supported through continuous professional development, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of education and care across every classroom.

8. What is the staff-to-child ratio at The Kindergarten?

We follow or exceed the required educator-to-child ratios as outlined by the National Quality Framework:

Victoria (VIC):

– 0–36 months: 1 educator to 4 children

– 36 months–school age: 1 educator to 11 children

At The Kindergarten, our boutique approach often involves rostering above minimum requirements to ensure personalised attention and quality interactions.

 

New South Wales (NSW)

The minimum number of educators required to educate and care for children at a centre-based service is to be calculated in accordance with the following ratios for children:

– from birth to 24 months of age—1 educator to 4 children;

– over 24 months and less than 36 months of age—1 educator to 5 children;

– aged 36 months of age or over (not including children over preschool age) —1 educator to 10 children (in NSW);

– over preschool age, 1 educator to 15 children.

9. How do you support children’s emotional well-being and behaviour?

We foster children’s emotional well-being through nurturing relationships, safe and predictable environments, and respectful interactions. Our educators use positive behaviour guidance strategies, supporting children to develop emotional regulation, social skills, resilience, and confidence in a calm, caring environment.

10. How do you support children with additional needs or diverse backgrounds?

At The Kindergarten, we are committed to equity, inclusion and diversity. We work closely with families and specialists to create individualised support plans, adapt learning environments, and provide meaningful experiences for all children. Cultural backgrounds, home languages, abilities and additional needs are embraced and celebrated across every part of our service.

11. What are your operating hours?

Our centres operate Monday to Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Victoria.

12. Do you accept Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?

Yes, The Kindergarten is fully approved under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) program. Our team can guide you through the application process and help you understand your CCS entitlements.

13. How do I enrol my child?

Simply complete an online enquiry form or contact your preferred centre directly. We will arrange a personalised tour, answer any questions you may have, and guide you step-by-step through the enrolment process.
